Withy is a large and spacious, modern, country house finished to a very high standard. The house is set in four acres of gardens, woodland and paddock with views to the South Downs. Secluded but not isolated, we are sure your stay will be enjoyable, comfortable, peaceful and relaxing. Please note we are a strictly non-smoking household Breakfast is served in the dining room. We offer a full English, Aga-cooked breakfast together with a buffet of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and juice. If you have any particular dietary requirement, please let us know in advance. Graffham is situated approximately 3 miles south of Petworth and Midhurst and 15 miles north of Chichester. Our grid reference is SU 930178. The entrance to Withy has an electronically operated 5 bar gate leading into the parking area. Please press the grey button on the right hand post to open the gate. From the A272 (Midhurst / Petworth) At Halfway Bridge take the road South signposted Selham and Graffham. Stay on this road for approx 3 miles until you enter a 30 MPH zone. Go down a steep hill with a narrow bridge at the bottom. Withy is on the right hand side just before the brow of the hill. From A286 (Chichester / Midhurst) North of the village of Cocking and 2 miles South of Midhurst take the turning to the East sign-posted Graffham. Follow this road for approx 3 miles. You will pass through an area of dense rhododendrons. Where the road forks to the right, take the left hand turning into a single-track road, signposted Selham. At the end of this road turn right, signposted Graffham. You will enter a 30 MPH zone. Go down a steep hill with a narrow bridge at the bottom; Withy is on the right hand side just before the brow of the hill. From A285 (Chichester / Petworth) North of the village of Duncton and 2 miles South of Petworth turn West following the signs for Graffham. You will enter a 30MPH zone and then go down and up a steep hill. After the brow of the hill you will see the village shop on your left and a turning to Selham on your right. WITHY Bookings When booking accommodation, a 50% deposit is required. In the event of cancellation, this will be refunded if the room is re-let. Payment Payment should be made by cheque or cash; unfortunately payment by credit card is not currently available. Arrival and departure Guests are welcome to arrive/return after 4.00 pm. Please telephone if you are planning to arrive/return after 10.30 pm so that we can make the appropriate arrangements. We would expect guests to depart by no later 10.00 am so that we can prepare for guests return/arrival. If you are attending a wedding, we are generally happy to make your accommodation available earlier so that you can change beforehand. Please contact us to arrange this in advance. Taxis If you are planning to travel by taxi, we suggest you make your booking early because local taxi firms have limited resources, especially for busy event weekends or weddings. Please ask for details of local taxi firms. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Graffham Graffham is a Downland village on the north side of the South Downs. With access to the South Downs Way and miles of other public footpaths and bridleways, Graffham is the perfect place for walkers, cyclists and anyone looking for a peaceful setting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are two pubs within a short walking distance that serve luncheon and evening meals: The Foresters (01798 867202) and The White Horse (01798 867331). Our local village shop is 200m away. This offers a wide selection of food and other provisions where you may wish to purchase items for picnic lunches. Other local facilities Both Petworth and Midhurst are approximately 10 minutes drive away. There are restaurants, pubs and shops in both these towns offering a wide selection to cater for all tastes. Petworth is renowned for its antique shops, Petworth House (National Trust) and Petworth Festival (July). Midhurst has many interesting shops, is home to Cowdray Park (for polo during the summer) and Cowdray ruins. Further Afield With its wonderful cathedral, Chichester is approximately 25 minutes drive away. It boasts an extensive range of shops, restaurants and sporting facilities. Goodwood is approximately 10 minutes drive away. Offering a wide range of events too many to mention, the most popular being horseracing (including Glorious Goodwood), motor racing (Festival of Speed and the Revival meeting), Goodwood House and golf.
